Termination Point

Q, Roscoe, Rusty, and I hiked out to Termination Point on Monashka Bay on Monday and took advantage of a good weather window. I decided on the D610 and the 14mm lens for the hike. Carrying the D610 isn’t too bad but having to worry about that lens was a pain. The front element of the lens sticks out so much that I spent most of the time worrying about hitting it on brush and branches along the trail. It would definitely be an expensive mistake to make.

Here are the photos I kept from the hike:

One thing I took away from using this lens other than being wary of its fragility is that it flares a lot. It has a maximum field of view of 114º so it can be very difficult to use on sunny days because it seems like the sun is always going to be either in the shot or just out of the frame.
