Time To Play Catch Up Again

Once again I’ve let the blog languish without updates for way too long (over two months!) So here are some of the photo highlights to get all caught up.

This was taken three weeks after the ones above. Amazing how quick it turns green around here.

There that takes care of the month of May. I’ll put together a couple more updates for June and July.

More Vacation Photos

Here are some more photos from the last week.

This is the beach at the end of the Anton Larsen trail. Tessa and I made the hike and were pretty tired by this point. The whole trail has matting down on it so it is fairly easy to hike but Tessa didn’t like the matting.
The Beach at the End

I had to run into work one day last week and decided to stop off at Buskin Beach after I was done there with my Nikon and the 14mm lens. This is a shot of one of the pools on the beach.

I made a trip up to the top of Pillar Mountain for sunset last week. This was an attempt to get the wind farm in motion while I was taking pictures. I used my neutral density filter and did a multiple exposure HDR merge to get this result.

Mayflower Beach

Yesterday I took Tessa and the camera out to Mayflower Beach. Tessa ran around the beach like a crazy dog and I had to keep my eye out for the eagles circling. Luckily she let me know about them by barking at them.

Here are the photos I kept from them and hopefully a little story behind how I got them.

When we first got to the beach it was raining a little bit. As I got down there and turned around looking back towards the parking lot there was a pretty nice rainbow. I set up and took this photo and after processing I noticed that there was a really faint second rainbow above the more noticeable one.

Double Rainbow

The small path out to the beach was pretty flooded with a puddle at least 1.5 to 2 feet deep. I had to carry Tessa through it. As I was leaving I was feeling abit adventurous and set up my tripod in the puddle to take a couple of photos.

More Catching Up Part 2

I have quite a backlog of photos to go through from the past month or so. Here is another big update.

These were from Fort Abercrombie again this time using the Sony A6000.

Sony at Fort Abercrombie

Yesterday after work Tessa and I went for a walk around Fort Abercrombie again. I brought the Sony A6000 for some photos figuring I haven’t given it much use since I got my Nikon DSLR. To be honest in the few times I had used it previously I wasn’t too impressed with the results I had gotten from it but after putting in some time and effort into the processing yesterday I think it isn’t too bad.
